Imotski is located behind the Biokovo mountain massif and belongs to Split-Dalmatia County (Croatian: Splitsko-dalmatinska županija). It is 30 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea and 80 kilometers from Split. Imotski, which has a population of 2,500, lies just under 400 meters above sea level.
Imotski is not a typical vacation destination for beach vacationers, but the beautiful pebble beach on the famous blue lake offers a welcome change. The town is particularly popular with hikers and nature lovers.

For the distance of approximately 990 km from e.g. Munich to Imotski you have to reckon with a driving time of about 10 hours. A large part of the route is on the Croatian highway. If you are traveling by plane, you can reach Split Airport, which is about 100 km from Imotski.
Imotski is also very well connected by public transport to the neighboring cities of Split, Sibenik, Zadar and Dubrovnik.
